Rules

We know, the rules are boring, but in this club there are rules. The good news is that, although in this club we are all part of the whole, the rules are for us rather than for you:

I. We select wines made with Spanish grape varieties. Do not expect Cabernet or Riesling because it will not happen. We do not drink copies of wines from other producing countries because they are always less interesting than the original ones. We want native grapes and wines made with varieties rooted in our land. There are hundreds of indigenous varieties planted throughout Spain and we will try to try them all.

II. We will always drink wines made by wild yeasts from the vineyard and its grapes. We don’t drink industrial wines made with those powders that they call native or selected yeasts. The immense Spanish techno-vineyard dedicated to supplying large commercial stores around the world is not the object of this humble club.

III. We avoid without exception the wines that are not true to themselves. It doesn´t matter if they are very good, it is not sufficient. We want to enjoy wines that are more than that because they are themselves. Real wines that represent and express a combination of land, sky, climate, vineyard and elaboration.

IV. We do not care about Denominations of Origin as such. In Spain, with exceptions, they do not guarantee much more than a certain uniformity. We care about real vines, real processes and real wines. Within the appellations of origin there are great wines and we take care of them, of course, but outside of the DO´s too, wines of profound interest are increasingly being produced from small production areas. We do not lose sight of them because in this magical moment an exceptional wine can be discovered from any corner of Spain.

V. The fifth rule is that we don’t want many rules. We just want this to always be an open club to explore and have fun participating in this wonderful revolution of wines with a continuing story, that truly represent tradition and have original flavors expressing the land they come from.
